Drive For Show

One of the many clowns I designed for the Slapstix figurine line.

The Poker Face

Some people just can’t keep a straight face. Others, well…

The Man With the Bag

Frank_Grau_Slapstix_ornamentGoodness, this day seems to come up so quickly. Well, we’ll keep the tree up through to the new year, and then it’s back to life as usual. I don’t know about you, but this is a nice Christmas. It’s not that there are lots of material gifts or any such thing, but the time spent with family and loved ones is great. I hope you’re all having a very Merry Christmas celebrating the birth of baby Jesus. As for the sketch, well, the clownin’ around never stops.

Christmas Clownin’

Yet another clown ornament…

More clownin’ around…

Strummin’ Along

Here is yet another musical clown design intended as a bust figurine, which I had designed for Second Nature Design almost a decade ago. I must confess, I’ve always enjoyed drawing these goofy kinds of characters. Perhaps they reflect my own goofiness.

Clownin’ Around

I had designed a line of clown figurines -called “Slapstix”- while at Cast Art Industries, back in the 1990s. I had drawn a ton of clown designs; more so than we could ever produce. I literally filled a wall with drawings.

After Cast Art closed its doors, Second Nature Designs commissioned me do a similar clown line, however, these were only busts.

Here’s one design from that line (perhaps in the future, I’ll spend an entire week posting a load of these).
